Siting in front of the river,
his eternal look bespeaks of his creator.
In the backdrop of the rough canvas,
on a leafless bough it perches.
finding his perpetual, niche forever.

the parlour of  my home.
Looking for whom ?
His painter in the capital city
or the one who bought him for thousand rupees ?

A thought of the brain
of a poor painter.
Sold for a few rupees 
to burn the kitchen fires.

How can I forget the look 
he gave when the bargain was done ?
Yet, will his fame give his son
a pair of tennis shoes
or tuition fees for elder one ?
At least a sustegen for his
